Consorcio de Compensación de Seguros (CCS), is an instrument that services the Spanish insurance sector, with an extensive historical background.
It is a public business organisation that is attached to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Business, through the General Directorate for Insurance and Pension Funds. It performs many functions within the insurance field, and amongst which those related to coverage of extraordinary risk, compulsory vehicle insurance, combined agricultural insurance and liquidation of insurance companies stand out.

Based on reports issued by AEMET in accordance with the provisions of the legislation on extraordinary risk insurance, it has been confirmed that between September 2025 and January 2026, there were 25 episodes of windstorm, 11 of which were classified as extraordinary wind events and 14 as tornadoes, in addition to those already published in the previous information note dated 16 December 2025.
